2022 Entegra Ethos T LI

Hi we recently purchased a 2022 Entegra Ethos T LI class b rv and I am having a very difficult problem with figuring out how to set up the electrical from a 30amp connection. I know how to plug it in from the 30amp plug and to the unit plug. However, I can’t tell if everything is running off of the provided service or the lithium unit.

I know one night we had a couple plug ins shut down and when I looked our battery was at 50%

Any information that can help?

We had the same problem. When plugged in to shore power and  the inverter would not switch from battery to shore power. We took it back to dealer and they had to do a reset, whatever that means….. sorry, not a mechanical person. But it wouldnt be anything we could have done

We purchased our Ethos Li 3 months ago and have been taking short trips to test the power system. Most stays I am running off grid, but just left a state park with 30 amp connection. I monitored the Mira display that shows battery status. We were at 100% so the system showed we were discharging the battery and the number of hours left at current amp draw. Once the charge % dropped to 99% the display indicated the system was “idle” or “charging” and the amount of time to reach 100% charge. This toggling continued which indicates the system was working. Now the question: I have a Renogy 48v battery system with 210AH and 10,600WH. Is that the same that other folks have? I have a feeling that “supply chain issues” create variants for several of the coach systems. I have a Coleman Mach 48vdc air conditioner running directly from the Renogy battery, according to the supplied xerox manual info. However, I cannot find data on the air unit on any Airxcel website and no one I speak with for service questions seems to know this unit is in my rig. Overall I am pleased with the electrical system performance and can easily run the AC overnight and have plenty of battery left in the morning, 65% being the lowest level. The second alternator fully charges the battery while traveling so every stop has 99-100% charge status ready for the evening. There should not be a need to adjust any parameters for a 30 amp power connection.

Thanks for the information Steve, we just purchased our Li 20TL this week and it sounds like we have the same configuration/set up as you do.  We plan to check out the system as you did with a series of short trips.  Like the underhood generator system that keeps the Li battery fully charged while driving.  Have you tried charging the Li with engine at idle, for instance if boondocking and Li system gets a low SOC…?  Is there an “auto-start” feature available for engine if coach interior temperature needs adjusting and Li SOC is low…?  Did you have any issues setting up the Firefly and Winegard apps on your devices…?  Still working through issues with those, all working good from the coach but not with the apps on my mobile devices yet…. Look forward to sharing information as we explore and try to utilize our coaches to maximize utility and enjoyment!  Thanks, Alan

Denis, we just bought our Li 20 TL this week and everything checked good with Li/Electrical system during PDI at General RV in Ocala.  We powered everything up with 50/30A shore power initially and the Li system remained fully charged during shore power operations.  Then we disconnected shore power and ran all systems utilizing the Li which then discharged appropriately.  Following that test, we re-hooked to 50/30A shore power and ran electrical systems again normally, with the Li battery recharging to 100% SOC.  This system worked as advertised during the drive from FL to OH during which we utilized Li while stopped and it recharged while driving.  We have not yet tried shore power other than at the dealership.  Thanks for posting, Alan

Just purchased a new 2022 Ethos Li. I have been struggling with a number of issues. I hope it’s just the dealer not really knowing what they are doing. At first wouldn’t charge off chassis alternator but dealer “reset system”. Now I see that the solar panels have never started charging the battery. I have both switches (one in cabin, one on top) in “on” position. Anyone having that issue?

I am new to the RV world. I have a new Entegra ETHOS Li. We took a short trip to work through the process. Now I can't get any power to the cabin area. The master switch will not power up and the shoreline connect to a dedicated 30amp plug does not appear to be changing the batteries??? called jayco, RV complete, and the dealer and cannot resolve the issue. I am sure it is me being new to this but it seems a reset is in order but can not get it to work. Any ideas??

I purchased a Etegra Ethos li about 10 months ago and come in to a problem. The Lithium coach battery shutdown because of low charge. I got the battery charge again with shore power. Shortly after that I discovered the the firefly Lyra panel was not displaying the state of  charge (SOC) or any Battery data.
Hopefully I've figured it out time will tell.
1) With the coach disconnected from shore power, pushing the battery reset button for 10 to 15 seconds.
2) There is a 3 amp fuse in a red rectangle fuse holder, under the bed on passenger side very close to the lithium battery, remove the 3 amp fuse by pulling only the upper portion of the fuse from the fuse holder. Check to make sure it is blown, if it's ok reinstall fuse securely. By doing the above should reboot Firefly touch panel should return to normal.
Hopefully this helps someone ...

Here is what I've learned about resetting the Lithium Ion battery in an Entegra Ethos Li

To charge when SOC falls below 20%

   1. Turn OFF van
   2. Turn OFF Solar switch under bed (the one on the roof can remain on)
   3. Turn OFF Inverter
   4. Turn OFF Main Switch
   5. Plug Power Cable into van and lock
   6. Turn OFF Circuit Breaker
   7. Plug Power Cable into 120V, 30A receptacle
   8. Turn ON Circuit Breaker
   9. Turn ON Inverter - Multiple beeps and clicking will be heard
   10. Check Sam Koons screen in top cabinet - Verify voltage is between 20V-40V and Charging.
NOTE: All Battery Cell voltages should be above 3300mv (3300mv/cell x 16 cells = 52.8V)
   11. Change Setting 09 on Lithium Battery to 54.8V  **
   12. Charge until battery humming stops and Sam Koons shows 0.0A or 1.0A charging.  Battery cells should all be above 3300mv and battery voltage should be over 54.0V.
Note: This automatically recalibrates BMS so the SOC is really 100% and accurate
   13. Change Lithium Battery setting 09 back to 54.0V  **
   14. Turn OFF circuit breaker
   15. Unplug power cable from receptacle and van

** Lithium Battery is located under passenger-side bed

   To change settings

   1. Click Set button
   2. Click Up button until you reach the proper setting number
   3. Click Ent button to change the setting value
   4. Click Up or Down button to find the correct value
   5. Click Ent to set the value
   6. Click Set to end changes

Verify these Lithium Battery Settings

Setting number and values

08 - L16  (Lithium 16 cell battery type.  Make sure it's NOT SLD = acid battery)
09 - 54.0  (Only if not recalibrating, otherwise set to 54.8V)
NOTE: Battery Mfgr setting uses 54.4V, Jayco setting uses 54.0V
26 - DIS  (Disables beeping when Solar switch is ON)
28 - 30A  (If using standard 110V, 15A circuit, set this value to 15A
35 - 50.8  (Low voltage disconnect recover - whatever this is)
37 - 52.0 (Battery charging boost return setpoint)

Battery Notes

SOC loses about 7% over time
New vans need to be charged and uncharged many times to get accurate SOC readings
Sam Koons screen
   • 53.0V - Fully charged
   • 52.0V - 75% charged
   • 51.0V - 50% charged
   • 50.0V - 25% charged
   • < 50.0V - BAD - recharge ASAP
   • 48V - Alarm sounds
   • 45.6V - Cannot charge

To find out if you are using Shore Power or Lithium Battery power, check the Samkoons display.  If the voltage is showing a negative number, you are not using Shore Power.  In order for Shore Power to charge your lithium battery you need to have the Inverter Button pressed ON.  A little green light should be on after about 5-10 seconds after pressing it.  Then check the Samkoons display and you should see a positive number displayed and you should see "charging" on the bottom right of the display.
