Electrical Question

Hello all. Kinda new to the RV world and have a question about what will run on 110? I have a 2019 Emblem with 50 amp electric and reduced down to 30 and then to 110. We are visiting friends in a neighborhood and don’t want to tun the generator all night, so we thought we’d plug into their house so we can run minimal necessities like a fan and the fridge. But when we woke up, coach was dead and had to run generator. Sounds like we were running off house batteries and not 110. We’ve checked outlet we are plugged in and we have power.

I have an entegra 2021 29V. While parked at home, I connect an extension cord from a standard 110 15 AMP outlet to an adapter that plugs into the RV  30A plug. I am able to run the air conditioner and the fridge and a few lights without any problems.

If you do not have a protection device that checks for correct polarity of the AC plug, you should get one as a mis-wired plug will damage the rv electronics.

I also plugged in a 110V nite light to verify the coach is on 110V

Hope this helps
