Finally, A new Macerator hose

The 2018 Models have an improved (until we find new problems  ;D ) Macerator hose.

The old hose was routed from the pump, upwards trough a side wall door opening.  The pump end was also "permanently"  attached to the output of the Macerator pump, or at least that was the intention of the original design.  Lots of poop stories of that hose coming off or other issues with the attachment point.

You also could not leave the hose hooked up since the door to its storage compartment would be left open.  Well you could but it looked pretty odd having the hose hang down the side of the coach a few feet.  The hose was also the victim of constant abrasion from the repeated inserting / removing it from that storage well.

In 2018 the hose is now a separate entity, no longer "permanently"  attached to the pump.  Instead it will now clamp to an easy to get to attachment point.  The hose is also now covered in a Protec NHS-207 abrasion resistant sleeve, so that will greatly reduce the chance for any nicks or cuts in the tube and the RV "oil gusher" potential!

I just Googled the sleeve to see if it's available aftermarket for those with 2017 and older coaches.  Looks to be a little over $4 per foot from one hydraulic supply shop Nylon Sleeving Hose Guard | Hydraulics Direct  otherwise you have to buy 300 feet of it (group buy?) from Amazon Tompkins Industries 102-NHS-207 Protec Nylon Hose Sleeve, 2.07" Inside...

Call customer service... recall on the old hose... replace with new hose with the sleeve .

That's great to know they are replacing the old super soaker with not just a new hose, but the one with the nylon protective sleeve.  Kudos for to Entegra for doing that.

Looks like there has been yet another change to the hose.  Well not the hose but its attachment.

As you can see in the first picture of the first post,  at the start of the 2018 models (and some very late 2017's) the hose was changed to separate part that you cam-locked onto the discharge pipe.

Previous years had the hose permanently attached (until it blew off or leaked) to the macerator discharge.  From there it was routed up into the compartment where the hose stored, the one with the cheap plastic outside door.  This is not really the greatest setup should you want to leave your hose attached such as when you want to have the grey water valve open, since you have to leave the hose handing down the side of the coach, looks tacky even for a sewer hose.

Now it seems that there was to much pipe between the hose discharge port and the gate valves, and unless the coach was leaning the right way, you could capture a tube full of "bonus fun fertilizer" that could/would pour out the next time you removed the cap.  So a quick change early in the 2018 models put things back to the 2017 version but with the hose reinforcing sleeve.

I wonder why they can't (re)design the floor of that bay (where the macerator hose lives) so it can come out the bottom rather than out the side of the coach?  Perhaps because they are worried "the bottom would fall out" and the hose would fall out and get dragged?

Probably that or perhaps they want to have that "water-trap" in the hose so there are no bonus drips.

Either way they should have a better solution.  This really seems to be one of the clunkiest dump setups, not that any of them are all that charming, but I guess we all have to hook up to 70's era campground dumps so that prevents or slows any innovation in this area.
